The Junior lender will review loan applications to evaluate, authorize, and/or recommend the approval of agriculture, commercial, and consumer loans.
a. Assists potential borrowers with completion of initial loan applications; reviews submitted applications for accuracy and completion, requesting additional information or detail as needed.
b. Collect and analyze all pertinent financial information on potential and existing loan customers. Set appropriate terms and for loans based on loan policy.
c. Complete and maintain all documentation needed within the loan process in adherence to the guidelines as set within the loan policy.
d. Manage their individual loan portfolio and assess ongoing risk within the portfolio.
e. Ensure collection of loans within the set parameters of the loan agreements.
f. Identify risk within the repayment of their individual portfolio and when problems arise identify issues, develop possible solutions to the problem. Advise superior of problems within reasonable time frame.
g. Meet with prospective customers to discuss their operation and determine how we can serve their financial needs better than their existing financial provider; explain different lending and credit options and bank products to potential and current clients.
h. Maintains credit and lending records and files; manages loan servicing on existing loan portfolios regarding payments, advances, modifications, and ongoing collection of information.
i. Review overdrafts and determine action.
j. Review balance sheets of existing accounts in search of additional loan opportunities.
k. Maintains a robust referral network for the purpose of business development.
l. Attend community events that promote EVB and/or promote community involvement to generate new business.
m. Attend bank meetings as required.
n. Performs other related duties as assigned.
a. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
b. Excellent organization and time management skills.
c. Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office products or related software.
a. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields or equivalent work experience required.
b. Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
c. Minimum of five (2) years of banking experience.
